Mrs. Vinita Singhania receives Outstanding Businesswoman Award

December 23, 2009: Mrs. Vinita Singhania, Managing Director, JK Lakshmi Cement was today conferred with the prestigious Outstanding Businesswoman Award instituted by the PHD Chamber. Ms. Singhania received the award from Finance Minister Mr Pranab Mukherjee.

Under Ms. Singhania’s leadership, JK Lakshmi Cement has made rapid progress and the capacity and turnover of the company has increased from 0.5 million tonnes and Rs. 70 crore to about 5 million tonnes and Rs. 1500 crore respectively.

Ms. Singhania is presently also the President of Cement Manufacturers Association, the apex industry body. She is the first woman to head the cement industry body.

“In its journey JK Lakshmi Cement has traversed through some of the challenging times. The award is dedicated to my entire team at JK Lakshmi Cement that has stood by me and has delivered outstanding performance against all odds”, said Ms. Singhania. PHD Chamber Annual Awards for Excellence were instituted in 1997 to recognise Indian businesses, entrepreneurs and individuals for their outstanding achievements / contributions in select areas and for promoting corporate and individual initiatives in economic, social and educational areas.

NATIONAL AWARD FOR SECOND BEST ENVIRONMENT EXCELLENCE IN LIMESTONE MINES FOR THE YEAR 2008-2009 instituted by NATIONAL COUNCIL FOR CEMENT AND BUILDING MATERIALS(NCB), BALLABGARH.

This award was received by Shri Ganpat Singh Chief Executive (Works) along with his senior technical team members from Mrs. Renu Sharma, Joint Secretary & Shri Shashi Ranjan Kumar, Director from Deptt. of Industrial Policy & Promotion (DIPP), New Delhi and Shri M. Vasudeva, Director General (ACTG), NCB at the Ashoka Hotel, New Delhi on 20th Nov, 2009.

On this occasion our Managing Director, Mrs. Vinita Singhania, Wholetime Director Shri S.K. Wali and Vice President (Projects) Shri D.K. Mehta were also present.

JK Lakshmi Cement has been awarded by “National Council for Cement and Building Materials” during an international seminar, held at Hotel Ashok, New Delhi.
